THE WISE

Khares was born to an unloving couple. During his hatchling days, he spent every minute of every day, worried that he would be thrown out of the clan to survive on his own. The only solace he had, was the oldest dragon in his clan. She told him all the stories of the life she had lead, and Khares was enraptured. However his peaceful days wouldn't last, and the ancient dragon passed away, leaving him once again all alone.

When Khares came of age, he left the clan on his own volition, to gather stories and tales from all over the world. Such passed his days for many years, gathering fairytales and myths, meeting strangers and friends. He even encountered a curse that turned him into solid amber, making him immortal, and very hard to kill.

One day, after centuries of traveling, he chanced upon a beautiful, enormous guardian dragon. She looked so sad, and so ready to end it all, that he could not leave her be. He cautiously introduced himself, and she responed in kind, revealing her name, Riddlegard.

He told her stories from all over, and her laughter and tears moved him like no other had moved him. Sure, she was rather eccentric, and her mind seemed a bit jumbled, however he fell for her just the same.

He decided this was his fate, and asked her if he could court her, and stay by her side. She was uncertain at first, but she came around, and they started their travels together, in search of the worlds mysteries.

At last, he was not alone.
