Biography

Cer

Cer is a simple Aztec warrior who fell in love with the God of the Rainforest "Coyotzin".
The drive within her to topple the strongest adversaries and climb her way to the top prevented her from growing close and forming a mate bond to any of the males in her tribe. She quickly garnered notoriety throughout the Amazon and was touted for her combat abilities, but trouncing all of her male suitors quickly left her with none.
She did her best to never show that it bothered her, hiding it from her platoon and her father Chief Iji. She never had a maternal figure and she knew he blamed himself.
Her tough exterior was not unwavering, and she would sometimes disappear quietly into the forest to pray for a great love. Coyotzin heard her cries of loneliness and appeared before her, not at all intimidated by her headstrong nature and physical prowess. The two immediately fell for one another and are rarely seen apart.
Cer, despite her gruffness and affinity for combat, is incredibly loving and nurturing towards her mate, children, and any wounded animal she finds.

Coyotzin

Mate "Coyotzin"
It is common for Gods to hold a harem and abandon both partners and nests on a whim, but Coyotzin never took a true mate until Cer and spends every day by her side.
Their offspring are either mortals, demigods, or minor deities, but because of the blood mix, not many survive. Only the purest and strongest are able to contain the forest's power inside their earthly forms.
Coyotzin is reserved but playful and not well-versed in the ways of communal living.
Cer opened his heart to new emotions; feelings he had yet to experience in his centuries spent roaming the rainforest alone.
Mates of Gods receive tidbits of their power over time, keeping them alive and strong for as long as they are needed. This is not the motivation behind Coyotzin and Cer, but females in the tribe regularly make passes at him, hoping to entice him into sharing their nests and sharing his power.
He is an attentive father and mate and is the true God of the Forest.

Taza

Son "Taza"
Taza is the firstborn surviving demigod and dresses with garb from his mother's tribe and artifacts from his father's domain. He is adept at both godly duties, and living amongst the common people. At a young age, he and his best friend Rodri were set upon by a ravager and a scar still remains under his mask.
On the battlefield, he is unfeeling and unwavering, but in village life, he is upbeat and a bit of a prankster like his father.
Teaching the young and untrained adults self-defense and hunting techniques is one of his favorite past times, along with pranking Tiki and Umi.
He is eager to begin raids against the beasts and consults Koe and her bones on a regular basis for intel.
He bears the mark of the beast and is the demigod of hunting.

Tiki

Daughter "Tiki"
Tiki is a stunning young wildclaw and the desire of any male that sets eyes on her. She has a knack for fashion, and uses a myriad of flora and trinkets to adorn her wings and body. Her torso is filled with pristine blue waters from the forest's river, and she harnesses this power to spread and nurture the wildlife around her.
She can often be found hanging around her best friend Umi, who is also (unknown to both), Tiki's long-lost half sister.
Tiki is aware of Rodri's feelings for Umi and tells him often to confess his feelings before Umi is approached by another male.
Tiki is outgoing and humble, and only toys with potential mates because she is too free-spirited to settle.
She is blessed by the river goddess and is the demigod of freshwater.

Umi

Roaming Aries
Daughter "Umi"
Umi is a minor deity adopted by Cer and Coyotzin. She was found as a common mortal, wounded and orphaned under a large nesting fern. Her animal companion, a simple fox, lay beside her, and a large wound on her back dripped with chaotic magics from a wild beast. She was not strong enough to survive the infusion alone, so Coyotzin used his powers to merge the dragon and her fox and channel the wind forces in the wound to power their form. Umi is lithe and clever and helps maintain the tribe's windmills and messenger balloons.
Tiki and Cer are especially close to her, both harboring an unexplained pull to keep her safe and happy.
She channels energy from the lingering magic in her flesh and is a minor deity of wind.

Jacque

Previous Mate "Jacque"
Jacque is a commander for the largest Aztec army in the Amazon. His home, the Xiao-lin tribe, hails from further east. He and Cer had a tryst at a warrior's festival years before she met Coyotzin. Before the nest was set upon by beasts and the eggs destroyed, Jacque had absconded with a single egg.
He stole the egg because although he was not ready to settle down, he wanted to raise a dragon pup and train it be a great warrior. The young dragon born from the egg was too gentle to be a warrior and would often wander away alone.
Unbeknownst to Cer, the broken and battered skydancer with no memories beyond her name that she found in the woods is actually her long lost daughter, Umi.
Jacque is not aware Umi lives and would be happy if he knew she was safe. He keeps one of her feathers with a tuft of fox fur in his armor at all times as a memento.

Rodri

Friend "Rodri"
Rodri was with Taza when the beast that left his scar attacked. He bravely put himself between the two but was quickly knocked out cold. They had snuck off to hunt and play as young pups are aught to do and were both rescued (and reprimanded) by Iji.
Rodri is a mortal and although he is on the weaker side, what he lacks in physical prowess he makes up for with tenacity and innovation. He is always building new weapons and traps, and can outsmart most of his stronger opponents.
Combining his traps and inventions with Taza's muscle and tracking powers provides more food for the tribe than the rest of the hunters combined.
When he is not hunting or spending time with Taza, he is upgrading the irrigation systems and helping Umi with the messenger balloons. Most of the males in their tribe pine for Tiki, but he is mesmerized by Umi's soft features and gentle nature.
He is still too nervous to tell her how he feels.
Rodri is extremely intelligent and loyal to a fault.

Iji

Father "Iji"
Iji adopted Cer shortly after her birth when her parents were killed during a raid of the shadow beasts. It was rare to encounter beasts with any forethought or self-awareness, but they raided a lair of 'exalted ravagers' which are very intelligent and strong enough to take down a small tribe.
They walked right into the trap and were slain.
Iji had just succeeded his late father as Chief but was quick to march his army and exact vengeance for his fallen warriors and two off his best childhood friends.
Iji was offered to the elements during his initiation as is custom and was chosen by the God of Thunder. Lightning struck him and imbued him with current, but with barely a few weeks of practice, his new found power proved fruitless when he sought reprisal.
His mate fell during the second raid and his already battered heart and spirit completely broke in two.
He returned and visited Cer with the nursemaid. She clambered up into his wings and began to play fight with his mane. He recognized the warrior spirit of her parents, and bereft with the loss of his father, his mate, and his best friends, took her to be his daughter.
Iji taught her to fight and lead and loved her fiercely. He regretted not taking another mate to teach her more 'feminine' things and felt her sadness year after year as she went without a mate bond.
He rejected her match to Coyotzin at first, thinking the God was using her, but quickly warmed to him and now calls him 'son'. He adores spending time with his grandchildren and is the happiest he has been since his mate passed.
Iji is Chief of the Au'whe and a deity of thunder. He is fiercely dedicated to his family and his tribe.

Koe

Seer "Koe"
Koe has been the tribe's seer for many years. She was taken captive at a young age by beasts and raised as livestock alongside many other dragons.
She was one of the very few that made it long enough to be rescued by Iji's father.
Her observations and long exposure to beast magic left her able to read the bones, enchant weapons, and make wards. She is only able to glean glimpses of the beast's plans, but her help is invaluable to all of the tribes.
Koe was on a pilgrimage for more ingredients to make her magic wards when the emergency raids that took Cer's parents and Iji's mate were carried out. Her own mate was also lost in the raids and she never took another.
She still blames herself for not being able to see that far ahead in the bones before she left, but exalted beasts have wards of their own to distort how well she can peer into their plans.
After many years of grief, she has finally begun to forgive herself and has been spending a lot of time bonding with Iji.
She is protective and the only living dragon to wield true beast magic.

Cer is so nice, what a bright and eye-catching dragon. Carrot and cerulean are a combo I could get behind! I love how you've dressed them and the scene you chose, too.

Cer's Aztec theme is so cool and unique! I love how colorful this dragon is yet it all fits so well together. I'm normally not a fan of peacock either but I couldn't imagine a better tert here. Really inspired me to make an Aztec themed dragon of my own!

Cer is like, the pinnacle of dragon dressing! She certainly gave me Aztec vibes at first glance, and I’m glad to see that my impression was correct upon viewing her profile. (Also, as a humble owner of budgies words cannot express how much I adore seeing those little birds on dragons.) I gave this pretty girl a like!
