When the miners and artisans of the Starfall Isles first began harvesting the Crystalspine Reaches they encountered the rich trailing edges of precious metals and stonework leading into and out of Dragonhome. Untouched by the nearby taint of the Scarred Wasteland these veins travel in curious vertical streaks along the sharp mountain ranges and sometimes carry more rare, arcane touched materials. Glass deposits studded with gems, marble merged in soaring buttresses with the bizarre pink stone of the region, crystalline towers of pearl and platinum. Because these veins originate in Dragonhome the Earthshaker holds dominion over them, and shapes them as he wishes. In his mighty wisdom he has seen fit to employ his glass, metal and arcane-touched Veinborne children as emissaries of his goodwill and messengers to the Starfall Isles.

Arcane Veinborne tend to be more narcissistic than intelligent making them unlikely diplomats for the stargazers of the Starfall Isles. Arcane Veinborne tend to segregate themselves based on which base vein they emerged from: glass (ice primary), pearl (maize) or marble (white) with ranking emerging mainly through quibbling and hissy fits. The only thing that stops a gaggle of Arcane Veinborne from fighting over who has more diplomatic immunity is the rumble of the Earthshaker.
