Thanos a.k.a. The Mad Titan
He once used the infinity gauntlet to remove half of the population of the universe (which is undone by Adam Warlock), he did this to appease death.
The infinity gauntlet held unimaginable power with all infinity gems collected, such was the power it held that none could stand up against him except for Odin (not alone he didn't) that managed to take the infinity gauntlet from Thanos and lock it into Asgard's castle vault for safe keeping.
