Biography

Campsis is so quietly, contentedly at peace with herself and her surrounds that she can seem almost sleepy-- that is, until she moves.

Campsis moves through the world in sinuous curls and curves, every footfall and wingbeat exquisitely, gracefully aligned to some unheard song (or to whatever audible music dominates in a given area). It's as innate to her being as breathing-- if she is moving, she is dancing, and it's been that way since she first emerged from the shell.

It occasionally creates trouble when she interacts with new acquaintances, as many a dragon has assumed that she carries herself this way out of some sort of strange pretentiousness. Campsis is as baffled by this assumption as her sister Dendrobium is puzzled by those who make the same assumptions about being nonverbal, however-- those dragons that opt not to simply leave in a huff quickly come to understand that Campsis probably wouldn't care a bit about pretense if she even understood it beyond a strictly academic sense in the first place. It simply does not make any sense in her mind to be anyone but herself, and part of being Campsis is moving her body like water, flowing and coiling within the banks of the world around her.

The love Campsis shares with Kygera is similarly uncomplicated. When she thinks of the passionate, wind-swift Skydancer, Campsis' dance becomes airborne, tracing out her delight and appreciation of the way the gregarious sculptor takes in and sweeps through the world with such exuberance and verve. Where the two are similar, they reinforce each other; where they are different, they negotiate and come to a balance where they can complement one another, like two dancers whose parts are complete and whole alone, yet harmonize and intertwine into something greater together. Like any great dance, the relationship takes work to balance and refine, but the end result is exhilarating beyond anything Campsis might have imagined for herself as a hatchling.
