Biography
Delirious was alone from a young age. He was left in the care of the temple by his parents the day his was born, so he grew up with a revolving set of guardians and mentors - some nicer than others. He was forced to skip meals frequently as punishment for questioning the temple's teachings, and yet he never seemed to learn when to keep quiet. He could usually be found by the water trying to catch fish to eat. This was where he met Vanoss, the son of a wealthy patron of the temple. They became fast friends, spending many days and nights fishing and hunting together. Vanoss was the first to call him Delirious, a nickname he chose when he heard Delirious hated the name the temple had given him. Once Delirious was old enough to become a disciple, he was thrown into training with no choice in the matter. He didn't see Vanoss for many a year since Vanoss' father had cut ties with him due to an argument over Vanoss wanting to become an adventurer. One night, while fishing by the temple, he found a heavily injured Vanoss. He took him back to the temple and nursed him back to health, hiding him from Circe since he knew she wouldn't approve. If found out, he knew he would be banished from temple grounds due to betraying the desires of one of their patrons by helping his estranged son. Once Vanoss was healed, they said good-bye once again and he left. However, Delirious missed him more and more with each passing day until, finally, he decided that enough was enough. He went to Circe, confessing how he had hidden an outsider on temple grounds and healed him using supplies meant for worshippers, breaking the sacred rule of acting only in the best interests of the temple. He was, of course, expelled immediately. But, what he didn't account for was Circe's anger. He had made her look fool, disobeying her wishes right under her nose. She informed the authorities that Delirious was a danger to the temple, stating she worried that he might try to attack in an act of revenge. Now, Delirious must hide from both the temple and the law as a hunt for him begins. If found he will be jailed and may even face execution, depending on the crimes Circe accuses him of. Vanoss found out of his predicament and offered his protection, but Delirious refused for fear of placing him in more danger. Now, Vanoss checks in on him with the guise of looking to buy food, weapons, or trinkets, generously paying Delirious using treasure from his adventures. Delirious uses these payments to take classes at Inkwell University but is unable to enroll fulltime for fear for Circe finding him. He visits campus about once a month, collecting his work and checking in with professors, before returning to his life on the run. |

Based on H2ODelirious the YouTuber.
Fandragon Summary: So this may not be super obscure bc he has quite a following on youtube,, but ig I'm just unoriginal lolol. Delirious is based off of the youtuber H2ODelirious. Delirious is known to be a bit of a wildcard, so I'm planning to map out lore filled with rebellion and poorly thought-out decisions. He also looves teddy bears, hence the Icewarden puppet. The familiar name is based on teddy bears and/or his tendency to add -lirious to the end of things - depends on the familiar currently paired.
Forum Summary: Once a disciple of Circe, a minor deity of the Raven Kingdom, Delirious is now forced to hide from her wraith due to breaking one of the temple's sacred rules. He spends his days roaming the waters far from the temple, fishing and scavenging for his adventurer friend, Vanoss.

Vanoss grins, his eyes glowing in the firelight. The smoke covering his wings ripples and sways, moved by a non-existent wind, and the constellations that cover his body wink in and out of sight. “Well, I should start by telling you it was aaaaall Del’s fault that we even wound up in that situation.”
“Was not!”
A glowing orb bursts out from under Vanoss’ mantle, bouncing up and down in anger. Vanoss just pokes at it with a claw, and it bursts like a soap bubble, leaving nothing but glowing dist behind. “Shoulda never taught him how to do that.”
“What, spy on you so I know when you’re spreading lies?”
Another orb has appeared, and this one manages to dodge Vanoss’ annoyed swipe. “Shush, I’m trying to tell the story.”
“Nuh uh. You’re trying to tell liiiies!!” The orb drops low to the ground suddenly before spiraling skyward. “Liiiiiieeesss!!!”
Vanoss flicks his tail, the vine wrapped around it extending with a rustle of leaves. It manages to graze the orb, and it pops again, leaving behind glowing dust. Glowing dust that blows into Vanoss’ eyes. He sneezes. “You did that on purpose you tree trunk.”
This time, no orb re-appears. “Delirious?”
Silence.
“I’ll bring you another teddy bear if you stop sulking.”
“Am not!”
This time, the voice comes from the shadows at the edge of the firepit. A grinning nocturne emerges a moment later, holding a net filled with fish. “Brought you a snack. Figured all that adventuring would work up an appetite.”
“Delirious! What – how –” Vanoss’ mantle flutters frantically before settling into stillness again. “You moron! What about Circe?”
“Eh, she’s dealing with some drama right now. Betrayed the royal family or somethin. Figured now was a good time to take a break from playing hide-and-seek with her minions.”
Vanoss huffs, obviously still worried. “You better be careful.”
“The most-est.”
“That’s not a word.”
“Anyway!” Delirious turns to the hatchling, booping them on the snout with his feathered tail. “Hello there little one. Wanna hear a story?”
"We were exploring some caves at night and Del wanted to go swimming in this underground pool and yelled too loud and it caved in and," Vanoss takes a deep breath, "a huge rock beat spawned out of a boulder and chased us out and we barely managed to escape."
"Hey!! I wanted to tell them! Also, that was boring!!"
Vanoss laughs loudly, scampering away into the night with Delirious hot on his heels.
