Nicholas serves as the Clan's Master of Archives. His duties are extensive, but seeing as he spends more time in the Keep's library than anywhere else, he finds time to manage his tasks. Among keeping an impressive collection of books and tomes, Nicholas also maintains a varieties of records pertaining to the clan including, but not limited to: lineage and bloodlines, trade agreements, alliances, territory coverage, Beast Clan treaties and much more.

Elsewhere boasts a truly massive array of tomes, scrolls, historical documents and other reading materials of numerous genres. It took Nicholas decades to bring the collection of knowledge to this level of grandeur, and other clans often request information or copies of records.

In order to keep track of the sheer quantity of material, Nicholas catalogs each item with scented oils. To the common nose, many of these oils smell the same. However, utilizing the Tundra aptitude for recalling scents, each book, scroll, pamphlet and so on has a subtly unique drop of oil dabbed onto a discrete location such as the inside cover or bottom corner. This system is so effective that Nicholas usually doesn't have to spend any time searching for materials. His keen sense of smell leads him to the book he recalls being associated with the particular oil he pressed into the page. The only downfall, is that no other dragon in the clan has the ability of such a honed sense of smell. Granted, there are other Tundras in the Clan, but none so familiar with each and every book as Nicholas. Thankfully, Nicholas' grandson, Jeor, has been helping the Archivist develop a system to organize the database into written form.

Fun Fact: Nicholas' Hainu, dubbed Quill, has an olfactory system as keen, if not moreso, than the Tundra. He assists Nicholas in maintaining the library.
