Vesiculars have thick, blackened skin, owing to their astronomical base temperature. It serves as a kind of armor and is much more difficult to penetrate than the average subspecies’ flesh. They shed during warmer months when their scales become too dry. In chilled environments, the combination of extra firm hide allows them to retain a greater amount of their abnormal body heat. However, what is normal for most dragons is hypothermic to a Vesicular. Blisters of searing fluid form at random on their bodies via hairline fissures at the surface. The contents will scald any dragon unlucky enough to come in contact with it. These are a Vesicular’s greatest weapon, and they will often allow adversaries to burst the pockets in an attempt to blind them or deform their horns and claws with the heat.
