In the silence of night, Seraphine watched the brilliant flames flicker and snap. Several dragons were always gathered around her, each offering a different treasure in exchange for the Skydancer's wisdom. They each sought a reading from Seraphine, a glimpse into their future. Her visions were vague and fleeting, just a moment captured in the flames before her. Yet they came to her, again and again, to know what might be. Seraphine had always been connected to the elements around her. She found comfort in watching the flames or sitting in the rain. She felt at home among the clouds or surrounded by nature. The energies she sensed empowered her. Without them, she wouldn't have been able to excel at the mystic arts. It was a gift from the gods that she treasured. In the Starfall Isles is where Seraphine made her home with her mate, Amenophis. Among the cosmic energies is where she felt connected to something much bigger than herself. The forces of nature around her were stronger, feral even, but they didn't scare her. Instead she embraced them, learning from them in order to elevate her own skills as a mystic. The more she understood, the more powerful she could become. It was also where she could raise a family and keep them safe. From the Observatory she could find books to teach her children of the world and magic within it. On the island they could explore and she knew they would be safe with their clan. And when they day had come for her children to make their own decisions, Seraphine knew she had to let them go. She had to let them venture out into the world and learn for themselves what they wanted in life, even if letting go was extremely hard. |
