Eloisa

___Eloisa had been alone quite a while now, after losing the love of her life and going into isolation deep in the forest of the neighboring territory. She spends her days in nature, painting canvas after canvas.
___She would usually paint simply to capture what she saw around her, what brought happiness to her heart; one day however, as loneliness took over her, a memory came to her. From her time as a young scholar, she had learned a series of spells, one of them being the ability to give life to an object for one day. Remembering the spell, she hurried to the room where she kept all finished canvas, grabbing the first one she saw.
___Sitting on the grass outside her home, facing the canvas that was leaning against a tree, Eloisa closed her eyes and concentrated, whispering ancient words, her hand touching the center of the object. At the end of her incantation, she opened her eyes and watched intently, waiting for something to happen. After a few minutes, Eloisa stood up, defeated washing over her, but, as she started to walk towards her front door, the sound of rustling grass reached her ears.
___Turning around, she was met with a young faun, that stared at her with innocent and confused eyes, as she finished stepping out from the painting. They stood in silence until Eloisa snapped out of her shocked state, searching for something to do or say; in her slightly panicked state, she brought what gave her comfort on hard days: tea.
___As they drank the tea and observer the landscape, both began relaxing, and Eloisa soon concluded that the faun did not know how to speak, soon adapting to communication through gestures and expressions. They spent the day walking in nature, the faun stopping at every step to stare at something closely, her eyes bright and filled with wonder.
___They almost felt as if they were old friends, but as the moon rose, Eloisa knew she was running out of time. As they came back to the house, it seemed as if her companion knew what was about to happen; they exchanged meaningful glances and hugged each other tightly and soon after the faun stepped back into her canvas, giving her new friend a last glance with a soft smile that radiated warmth.
