"Even when you think you have nothing left, there's always more to give." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ Ceren is an odd creature, being only one half of a broken whole. She and Ceres were a single dragon in life, but in death were violently split into two warring spirits, equal and opposite. Light and Shadow. Hope and resignation. Rise and fall. Despite being the half that is aligned with the Shadow flight, Ceren is the brighter half. She sees their shared tragedy, and wants only to save others from feeling that same despair. She hopes for a better world, and will act as much as she can to make it real. After their death, the twin spirits Ceres and Ceren wandered Sornieth, barely able to keep a single form. Despite having become separate entities, they were still a single whole and could do nothing alone. When Ceres would want to preserve what she had, Ceren would want to selflessly give and in the end they could do neither for they could not agree. The same held true for the forms they took. Unless they agreed and took the same form, they could only ever manifest as a hazy imitation of the dragon they once were. Like this they wandered, torn and forever fighting until they arrived in the lands of Dragonhome, and the ruined fortress in the Cairnstone Rest. It was there that they met The Order, and there that they first encountered the dead knight Ceru. For the first time since their death, Ceres and Ceren were unified: in their fascination with this dragon who just... existed. In their joint fascination, they found their forms mimicking Ceru's, though the imitation was imperfect. Perhaps ironically, only when united did they find themselves able to appear unique from one another. Their shared mimickry and fascination grew, and soon they both found themselves adept at combat, training as knights of the Steel Order. Despite having the exact same training, Ceren is a more restrained and calculated fighter, her empathy often staying her blade. However despite her reckless selflessness has been tempered by the oppressive sense of loss that lingers in the Steel Order. Perhaps this is the first step to finally becoming a single whole again. |
