it has perhaps been more than a millennia since eon had last heard word of their friends. gods, like they, who had passed long ago. wait for us, one had told them. we will return, neo had said. and yet, if we don't return, do not dwell on our departure, eno had reassured. as the youngest of the gods, eon patiently waited. past thousands of years, they sat gazing towards the empty sky. when will they come back? the lost fellow thought, toying with the timepiece around their neck. those who worshipped them rose and fell with less than a blink of an eye — eon couldn't care less. as the god of time, the years ticking by were but mere ripples on their playground of hourglasses and sand. after all, they could rewatch history at the flick of a talon. it's said that eon was a favorite of eno, which brought some level of jealousy from the other gods. the creatures at their side were created by the very sand eon kept in their timepiece: a gift from god to god. yet naïve as they were, eon continued to seek companionship in everyone. they were known as the kind god; they banished sand and replaced it with soil, they sought that every land ought to hear the wind's playful song, that everyone ought to be as free as they. so how could this come to be? they are now lost and friendless, alone and unprotected in the cruel world eno had tried so hard to shield them from. | xxxxx |
