______ A small body with an even smaller price tag, perched in the crooked shelves and displays of the auction house. How could someone bring something so frail, so soft, to a place as wretched as this? Most who came here were to face a fate worse than the grungy tables and uncleaned floors of this financial hell. But not this particular hatchling. Her skin glistened in the colors of the night sky, reflecting off the dull, newly-hatched skins, scales, and feathers or her other counterparts. Surely that had to mean... something..?

______ Of course. This wasn't her fate.

______ So, Castello made her escape. Though, it wasn't a difficult task, given the sheer amount of living, breathing flesh and opportunity that was condemned at this forsaken place. No body noticed a purple figure slinking away. Castello knew deep in the marrow of her bones she wasn't to be purchased by greedy claws and given to the mercy of their flight. Perhaps it was intuition, perhaps it was fear, but her dread eventually drove her wandering to the Citadel. Neatly nestled in the crooks of the Windsinger's territory, Castello felt she wasn't welcome here.

______ No... She would make herself welcome here. Not a single soul writhed within the tall, black iron walls of the citadel. It was a strange situation, given the beautiful, relatively new architecture of the citadel. It was as if it was just... suddenly abandoned. But that didn't matter. Castello could live here and be safe, at least for now.

______ ...

______ Castello wasn't a trusting dragon by any means, being very superstitious and paranoid. But from any onlooker, one would never be able to tell she lived in such a constant fear. Fear of usurpation, fear of death, fear of contempt. No, you would never be able to tell, for she always wore a crowned filigree of calm, collected beauty and awe. She was the single wealthiest dragon in all of her chilling Citadel. She was the epitome of beauty, though beauty unfair. She ruled uninvolved, staying within the uneasy safety of her keep. She feared for her identity and her image. Who was she if not the keeper of this citadel? Well... who knows...?
