_. Mother to Amity.
She'd wished for a child from that doll, and she'd received one. An adorable little daughter... and yet.
_ couldn't bring herself to love her. She tried, tried as hard as she possibly could and yet she still couldn't find room in her heart. It didn't make sense, she had everything she wanted!
And yet... day by day, the cries and nonsense the child would speak drained on her and sanded down her will. She- it, was just a doll. Didn't need food, or drink, the only thing it had in common with a child was the messes she made!
So _ did it one day. Amity was in the attic and she simply, locked it. Eventually the noises stopped.
It was a few weeks later when she remembered to check on that doll, and peeked through that hatch. Only to find a stuffed skydancer in its place.
"I gave you what you wanted, did I not? And yet you do this."
It approached, and a claw latched onto her, pulling her into the attic proper.
"Perhaps you should have a little experience."
The doll was gone. The hatch was locked.
And she, unlike the doll, withered.
