Xanth was born to a pair of mercenary troops, loyal only to their troop and each other. Though they took good care of their young daughter, work still went on, and Xanth lost both her parents at once in a bad raid when she was only a few months old. The troop rallied around her, raising her as best a band of misfit, loudmouthed, vulgar-minded soldiers could. She grew up surrounded by fighting and warriors, so it was only natural that she learned those skills early and learned them well.

Xanth rose through the ranks of her troop as she aged, fighting alongside those who had taught her how to fly and fish, but watching those same friends fighting was hard for her. She learned early of death, but she struggled to make peace with it. When she had reached her adult length and maturity, Xanth decided she wanted to explore in a way that the troop, with its contracts and obligations, couldn’t give her. With her family’s blessing, Xanth set off to explore the world.

She first came to the clan through some old friends of Lionel's from his mercenary days, and despite herself, she kept coming back. It didn't take long for her to realize that her heart had moved into the cliffside caves and was waiting for her mind to follow. Now, her favorite way to spend the day is training up young dragons to help defend Light's borders and then swapping war stories with Lionel over the fire at night. She still visits with her merc family, and they stop by whenever they take a job in the vicinity, but Xanth is content to get her fighting done in the Coliseum, and not on the battlefield. She prefers raising young dragons up instead of cutting them down.
