The first step fails, ethereal form falling to the ground, scattering. Sending out tendrils of thought, to feel. There, a mortal form! Senses incomprehensible prodding, poking, retreating. Victory opens void filled eyes, bony nostrils infiltrated by the coppery smell of the ground underneath. The second step goes better. As bony limbs learn how to stand golden hue ripple around them, like a facsimile of skin and muscle. The form morphs gathering information from around. The battlefield filled with the remains of fallen warriors, gnawed by time and scavenging birds. Bleached bones crowned with moss and the first tenacious plants. Thoughts, fears and dreams hanging in the air, soon to be swept away with time. Victory stretches newly acquired limbs. |
