There was darkness that seemed last forever, but a warmth began to glow, small but strong. Slowly, it began to regain its semblance and sense of self, like a sprout reaching for sunlight as it grows.
The first thing it saw was a bright light, weaving around them in a playful manner. Then a large green figure slowly filled its sight, like a forest growing around them. As the forest grew larger, there began a low hum, and the light whistled a tune above it. The song soothed this new life and encouraged it to rise from where it was, although the roots and vines that wrapped it and its new legs made it initially difficult to do so.
When it was able to stand, it saw that the two entities were no longer around them and heard that the magical song was replaced by the natural hum of the forest. Still, the magic that had given it life also filled the new being with hope and courage. Soon, it began to take its first unsteady steps towards a direction in the forest, pulling the being like an invisible string.

The name is also assumed to derive from a dish made from egg whites and the Pearlcatcher's pearl can resemble an egg.
