Noel

Her egg shone brilliantly against the contrast of the rich green moss that had granted her a safe haven. Pearl's gaze was caught by the faint glimmer of light breaking through the loamy shade of the Shrieking Wilds. No one knew how her egg could have possibly have been left so inland to nature territory, or how long she had been there to begin with. An unwelcome thought often plagues the mind of the warrior prince when he thinks of what could have happened to her, had he not been patrolling on a whim that night.

Noel's egg could be found tucked into the sturdiest bow of Pearl's branches as he went on his (now routine) patrols. She hatched on a particularly frigid night in Pearl's den while he slept, still embraced by his soft leaves. Though much smaller than most guardians, her scales had a luminance like no other. The finest rubies couldn't even compare. The navy blue shimmers from the prince's scales filled her resplendent yellow eyes with such wonder. Pearl had awoken to her cooing as the newfallen snow began to settle just outside. He felt "Noel" was a befitting name, seeing as she was born unto him.

Though too big to still nestle in his branches, Noel is often found by Pearl's side as he does his nightly patrols. Being that she was born of the light, she acts as his lantern. Her den is a simple canopy nest in the trees, at the utmost center of the clan's lair. Her favorite trinkets adorn the leaves above her. You can often find her familiar, Spaghetti, disguising himself as an ornament so he can spy on unsuspecting dragons and listen to gossip, much to Noel's dismay.

When the moon reaches the center of the sky and the last of the dragons have finally retired for the night, a soft glow can be seen pulsating in tandem with the breaths of the little guardian. Though on snowy nights she is sometimes missing from her leafy pile. But one could find her resting her head on the sturdiest bow of a certain dragon's branches.
