In a relationship with Locket--the two of them are psychics/mindreaders of a sort.

They have an act where they pretend to be psychic and read the audience's mind. It's a fun act--they try to keep it ambiguous as to whether or not they are truly gifted (they are). They only reveal a tiny bit of their true power to rich guests. Then the two work their real magic.

Their powers: if they can form a connection with their victim, or have anything in common, Open can trail a hand through that person's memories. The stronger the connection, the more emotionally impactful the memory. Open and Locket usually do not delve too deep, but instead favor information they can sell on the market--how many guards does X have, where is Y's safe, etc. They do not target the person they are mindreading, but aim for acquaintances or family, so no one catches on.

Two figures stood atop a small, dingy stage, entertaining a crowd with a well worn, time tested bag of tricks.

The audience, well fed and watered, clapped and laughed along. Most of the families here understood the little tricks the magicians played were not meant to be taken seriously.

Cold reading, watching the cues on a face or the body, sheer luck--that's all it was to the vast majority of the crowd.

Except one. One Sir Milnarose. The good Sir had deigned to peer into the commoner's movie theater, and his presence amongst the crowd had not gone unnoticed.

Locket dropped a few clues here and there, sprinkled in his speech. Opener held eye contact with the burly man for just a bit too long, just a bit too familiar.

The two magicians had laid the trap--now, would the victim bite?

The show sped to a thrilling conclusion, with Opener molding a rabbit into a dove and letting it nest in her hair. The children in the audience were allowed to pet the dear creatures--very gently, of course--and the two bid their audience a fond farewell until next season.

One lingered behind.

The victim had bit the bait.
