___
______A vibrant mage, in both appearance and personality, sits peacefully in a darkened room, watching the fog swirl and twist into beautiful and colorful shapes around the small crystals that she held.

______The otherwise silent room is filled with a pattern of clicking as not quite old, but not quite young talons boredly tap against the minerals. The dragon's thoughts, admittedly ambient, are waved away once a familiar figure fills the doorway. A smile finds its way onto bright orange scales.

______"And what are you up to, Labonita?" Asks the elderly witch, the ancient and beautiful Yafelia, with her slender wings and pointed feathers. Labonita places her crystals down gently, lining them all up in their little box, then rises and makes her way to the other, greeting her with a gentle nudge of her snout.

______"Not much of anything, grandma. Just watching the fog." Yafelia wasn't actually the grandmother of the younger dragon, but the two of them had such a close-knit relationship that one could never tell otherwise. Yafelia used to cringe at being referred to as such, desperately clinging onto what she had left of her youth. Nowadays, though, she wears the title with pride.

______"Then, would you like to help me with a serum today? It's for Fizgig, from the tea shop. He's complaining of hangovers. If you ask me, the boy just shouldn't drink so much! That sure would solve his issue right up."

______Labonita let a laugh escape from her maw, nodding her head as she thought about the eccentric tea shop owner and his terrible capacity for alcohol.

______"I would love to. Should I get the kitchen ready?" Yafelia curtly nodded, turning her attention to light up the flames beneath her cauldron, a well loved appliance even older than she.

______Labonita stood by to watch the flames magically spark, encompassing blue, then green, then pink before settling on a nice cozy orange. She smiled, her shoulders relaxing.

______Labonita began her stay at the galleries a few years ago to further her magical training and work alongside the other residents, each one studying hard to perfect their magical and otherworldly abilities. Yafelia had been the one to take her under her wing. Perhaps there was something about her that stood out to the witch. Maybe Labonita reminded her of her own journey as a younger, starry-eyed dragon passionate about her magic. Or maybe she took pity on her, taking it upon herself to help the poor, misguided dragon. Whatever the reason, Labonita couldn't be more grateful for the family that she had found, despite all of their strange tendencies and sometimes mind boggling conundrums that they always seemed to find themselves in. No, she wouldn't trade them for the world.

______"Labonita, chop chop!" The mage jumped, pulled suddenly from her thoughts. The fire beneath the cauldron had reached a beautiful red.

______"Oh, yes, grandma!" Labonita called, poorly hiding her smile as she made her way towards the pantry.
