With his youthful spark, Matcha asked. Serving a cup of hot peppermint tea to his prominent mother figure, Cyanea. Even if she was spending her time in the peaceful, flourishing garden by the mellow hills of Sunbeam Ruins, she could not hide her illness. Cyanea was getting weaker and sicker day by day and Matcha knew it, constantly fighting to keep his emotions in check, as he had to stay strong.

According to Cyanea, she found Matcha's egg during the darkest night of the year. As she was foraging for herbs, she could hear loud and deranged sounds from the edges Tangled Woods. Not wanting any trouble with possible celebratory drunkards or other hooligans, she hid in some thick tea shrubs and later ended up finding a singular, pale-looking egg on the trail that led to the woods. Knowing for a fact that the egg would eventually rot, she took it under her wing and returned to the village.

It didn't take long for a beautiful, dusty pink wildclaw to hatch. She named him Matcha, after the shrubs the older Obelisk was hiding on that strange, faithful night.
However, ever since immigrating from the toxic work environment in the factories of Shifting Expanse, Cyanea has gotten sicker and sicker. The clan healer eventually diagnosing her state to be terminal. Her colors have started to fade with mutated scales and fevers getting worse. Despite her struggles, Cyanea has done her all do be a good parental figure for Matcha.

Now, having grown into a healthy, sensitive young man, old enough to appreciate her mother's struggles and efforts, Matcha feels that he owes his life to Cyanea. He's determined to find a cure to his mother's illness and is known around the town for his inquisitive talent in tea brewery. Not only are his unique brews delicious and savory, but they've been shown from time and time again to have unexpectedly effective healing capabilities. Nobody quite knows his secrets, but some dragons choose to believe it's due to his incredible patience and willpower, as well as rare ingredients Matcha is willing to trade for, sometimes from all over the globe, all in the efforts to cure his mother.

However, he's often shown to push himself way past his limits. Oftentimes staying up for days upon end, just trying to research herbs and medicine that could help Cyanea in any shape or form. He sometimes winds up pushing himself into bad situations and has ended up on the darker side of herb market, with good intentions, yet hasty and oftentimes illegal trading. Some say he's throwing his youth away and is putting himself at an unnecessary risk, as there's no guaranteed cure for his mother's condition, however, Matcha remains determined.
