Biography
HORA
Enigmatic Killer Hora is an intriguing character, one that slipped into the clan seamlessly and adopted their way of life so perfectly she might have been there from the start. Aragona's clan is no stranger to dramatic entrances, but although Hora herself happens to be quite the dramatic personality her arrival was anything but. Hora wandered over from the plaguelands with her close companion Atéh, no one really knows how they got across the fraught border unscathed. She's been all over though, and has little anecdotes from most much every flight. Although she can be reluctant, she proves to be quite the storyteller when prompted (mostly by Atéh, as the rest of the clan is reasonably wary of her) and leans more towards dramatic truths than Atéh's particular brand of.. embellishment when recounting their travels. |
The green-tinted wildclaw prides herself in being a step above any opponent she may face and always seems confident, both in herself and victory. She has a close bond with Atéh, a more mild-mannered member of her species that nonetheless attracts as much attention as Hora herself does, the two making quite a pair. She tends to be good natured but surprisingly crass in the right company, always ready for a fight but rarely indulges in them these days due to Atéh's calming influence. In spite of her seemingly ambivalent nature Hora is quick to take offence, though her reaction to provocation or conflict seems to rest heavily on her mood and whether or not her friend Atéh is present. These days, she's content to leave it at threats and glares. She is certainly able to control herself and allow insult to roll off her back, but if given the chance and against those with malice she could certainly 'solve' every issue or squabble with violence. Her jokes and over-familiarity may make it a tad too easy to forget, but Hora is a killer, and a very good one. She needed to be, to survive, but claiming that as her only reason is something even Atéh wouldn't do.
Thus, as is the fashion of her species, Hora can be quick to jump to violence, although she boasts a quick wit and her words can be just as biting as her claws. Those who find themselves on the wrong side of either are singularly unlucky, as prefers to spit insults alongside any physical altercations. Originally from the plaguelands, Hora has fought her entire life and although she boasts few scars to prove it a keen eye will reveal this is not at all for lack of having been in battle. The tall wildclaw is completely comprised of lithe muscle, and her speed is rivalled by few. Having honed her survival instincts from a young age, Hora has exceptional hearing, a keen sense of smell and swift reflexes, her balance and orientation are likewise impressive and she enjoys a very wide field of vision due to her horizontal pupils. Her thin form and light steps ensure stealth when she needs it, making her a perfect hunter.
Although she's hotheaded, she uses anger and violent emotions to her advantage, keeping a tight leash on them in battle as she almost always fights with a clear head, her analytical mind taking over when it's time to solve things physically. She's content enough to allow others to underestimate or judge her for her apparent temper or behavior, but come actual conflict shows no hesitation in putting an opponent in their place. She exhibits a certain dashing air however and is just as likely to use her quick wit to flirt with others than insult them. She's liberal with compliments and flirtations, and rarely filters herself as she sees no reason to. Although her mannerisms are far from diplomatic, she's certainly in possession of a fair bit of charisma, and is able to talk her way out of almost anything. Not that she always would, of course. Where's the fun in that?
She is fond of pretty things, from well-made jewelry or sharp weapons to other dragons, and therefore takes great pride in the beauty of her best friend, Atéh. It may seem shallow, but the truth is that Hora simply adores everything about Atéh, including her appearance.
She lives with Atéh, they somehow have one of the nicest caves in the wildclaw settlement, despite the fact they were some of the latest arrivals. It may seem strange, but Hora and Atéh both place a comfortable den high in their priorities and Hora herself spent ages digging out the cave and rounding the edges as well as generally improving the surroundings for a satisfactory home. The two, being experienced and strong, have become central figures in the small wildclaw community, and as they boast the most comfortable living space find themselves the hosts for many a friendly gathering. Hora may act as if she minds, but aside from good-natured growling and grumbling about others invading her space she never lifts a claw to stop visitors, partially because Atéh is such a mothering figure that she feels the need to provide comfort and shelter for all those that she considers clan. Hora doesn't mind, really, she's just not as subtle as her friend.
Due to her extensive travels, Hora mingles just fine with other dragon species, like she's used to being around all sorts of dragons. Her general demeanor seems to point to her considering living in the strand as a 'vacation' but the way she talks about it make any impending departure as likely to be the next day as it is ten years from then.

Hora boasts glittering red eyes and prefers to accent herself with bold red colors, though it's unclear if she bases it off her own eyes or her favorite color, that of freshly spilled blood.
Then again, that tidbit may also be one of her peculiar jokes as she does delight in tricking others and watching them squirm with discomfort and fear. Her claws are tipped with finely made rings and she wreaths herself in red smoke, donning crimson blooms that boast a sickly-sweet scent. She appears as lively as the death she often brings is not, though she resents the term reaper. Or Butcher. Hora elicits a unique fight or flight response in many, though it's almost never apparent which route should be taken. She is dangerous, but terribly beautiful. |
