Biography

~NEIRIN~~~~~
As The League of Valor's capital city, Neirin is the most heavily populated as well as the most dangerous place in the clan. After all, this is where Adrienne hides. The Fallen One's gaze spares very little, and here she is especially vigilant. Tread lightly.
~ASTER~~~~~
Although "Aster" technically only refers to the city at the center of the island, the name has come to be associated with the sprawling farms and numerous orchards surrounding it. The stable, pleasant weather makes Aster a great place to live-- if you can put up with its governor's ruthlessness.
~ASTRALIS~~~~~
This dense city is known for a number of things, the most notable of which has to do with the island's sky: it is always night time in Astralis. And despite the city's light pollution, the stars-- the whole breadth of them-- are always visible. Almost inescapable, really.
~KAITO~~~~~
Since the early days of the clan, Kaito has been The League of Valor's major source of seafood. In recent years, though, it's more closely associated with its now violently unpredictable weather. Uncertainty washes over the city with the ebb and flow of the waves. Will tomorrow bring peace, or will it bring catastrophe?
Lore notes:
Passionate geographer and cartographer who is currently struggling with trying to make a map of the clan. Finds the absurd geography both puzzling and fascinating. Ines will be occupied with this project for some time, but she worries about what she'll do after she's done, seeing as it's nearly impossible to leave.
(clan geography + maps)
- All of the islands are suspended in the air via magic spells
- There's a team of mages dedicated to checking the artificial ley lines on each island
- Each island has its own geography and climate, regardless of whether or not it would even make sense (frigid tundras remaining cold even in the summer, deserts staying scorching hot even in winter, etc.)
- The four largest islands are home to the four major cities of the clan
- The vast majority of the clan's population live in one of the cities, mostly for convenience (and because Adrienne finds it easier to monitor people if they're mostly in one of just a handful of places)
- The islands have wildly different features due to magic influence, though the exact mechanisms behind them aren't widely known
- Most civilians just accept that the clan has really weird inconsistent weather depending on the location
- The entirety of the clan is hidden by dozens of spells. Usually only people who are approved by Adrienne are allowed to enter, but there have been exceptions
- The border of the clan contains a spell that alerts Adrienne to people entering and exiting. It's extremely reliable, but some people have managed to get past undetected
- Large bridges connect the major islands
- The smaller islands also have bridges, but the only ones who really use them are warriors on patrol or the maintenance crew
- Certain people consider the presence of large amounts of only one type of flower to be a bad omen, as these kinds of places tend to also be where Adrienne's presence is the strongest
- The presence or absence of flowers doesn't necessarily guarantee anything about whether Adrienne is keeping an extremely close eye on the place, though, and is more of a matter of coincidence
Neirin
- Capital city
- Experiences the four seasons, although the spring and summer seasons tend to be longer than winter and fall
- Quite sunny year-round, even in winter
- The largest city population-wise
- Roses are common on this island, and are often found growing wild or being planted as decoration
- In the very center of the city sits the Angel's Sanctuary (the main temple dedicated to The Fallen One)
- Has a very vast series of underground tunnels and facilities, mostly for Adrienne's allies to meet, exchange information, conduct research, etc.
- The dominions are locked up deep underground Neirin
Aster
- Smallest population of the cities
- The island itself consists of a small city surrounded by farms and orchards
- Most of the land is dedicated to agriculture
- "Aster" technically only refers to the city on the island, but when most people say Aster, they are usually referring to the whole island
- Weather is pretty mild and pleasant year round, but there are a few small island surrounding the main island that have more extreme weather (hot and cold)
- The primary producer of the clan's food supply
- While people have access to more modern watering systems for their farms, Aster's rainfall is so regular and reliable to the point where they're rarely used
- Apples are a very popular fruit here, and there are a lot of bakeries featuring pastries with apples in them
- The most common flowers here are (surprise surprise) asters, although they only seem to occur in the normally uncommon shades of red
- Samhain's palace is located on the edge of the island away from the city
Astralis
- The densest city
- Second highest population of the cities
- Known for its "eternal night"
- The "eternal night" effect covers the entire island, not just the city
- The climate is on the colder side, and the island has quite a few mountains with snow year-round
- Someone looking at the island from the outside wouldn't notice its "eternal night" effect until the moment they cross into that island's borders
- The transition is really sudden; literally the moment someone goes onto the island it'll seem like the sun has suddenly disappeared and the stars are out
- Despite the city's light pollution, the stars are always visible in the sky
- The most common flowers here are pansies, particularly in shades of purple
- Public transportation is widely available and often used due to the fact that most dragons opt not to fly in this city, mostly because it's pretty dense and flight traffic tends to be pretty bad
Kaito
- Third largest population of the cities
- Located on the coast of a large ocean
- The ocean itself never seems to run out of fish, but it can be extremely unpredictable, especially in recent times
- Katio's ocean is a mystery even to those who have lived there for a long time
- The city's weather and ocean have always varied quite a bit from year to year, but the effects have been much more pronounced in recent times to the point where the citizens' personalities and moods will change with the waves too
- The primary producer of the clan's seafood
- Forget-me-nots are the most common flowers here
- The weather ranges from being the most beautiful, pleasant day you've ever seen to comparable to standing in a hurricane
- Part of the edge of the island is the ocean. The water doesn't flow down here, it just hovers like the edge of a map in a video game
CLAN GEOGRAPHY + MAPS

The maps shown in this document are subject to change over time as new information comes in. At this point, I am reasonably confident that they get the major details down correctly, but I'm still ironing out the smaller things. If you find a mistake on one of them, please let me know! Thanks!
