You travel into the woods, alone on a moonless night. The canopy soon hides the stars from your view. You can't see past the tip of your nose, if that.

You no longer know where you are.

You barely know what's up and what's down.

Then something brushes against your leg. Something soft but cold. You tense- you didn't hear anything approach. Then you feel it again, brushing around the side of your neck and under your chin.

It feels...

It feels like a tail of some kind.

Once again, not a sound was heard. Nothing audible over your ragged breathing and pounding heart.
