A Gardener weaves a basket of daisies with leaves,
Passing it to the Sorcerer with a fern wreath,
Who shares it with the Doctor who eats sunflower seeds,
Seeing it with mignonettes, the Runemaster passing by greets,
Hanging it with diphylleias, the Performer sings,
As the Metalworker passes, leaving a hyacinth,
The Librarian in a hurry drops books and slipped-in elderflowers,
But the edelweiss-wearing Consultant gathers them smilingly.

Among Nature dragons, it is regarded as a bittersweet flower, as it is believed to be left on a hatchling’s grave by the Gladekeeper, while among Wind dragons, it is a favoured flower to give as an offering to the Windsinger. |
With the sun shining high in the sky, the Gardener sinks her shovel into the ground, a row of freshly planted seeds behind her. Her newly imported batch of plants from the Tangled Woods had just recently arrived, and she hopes they will bloom and flourish as well as all of the other flowers she’d planted in the past. “Grow well,” she murmurs, patting the soil lightly. “And live to reach the skies.” The hum of It showing Its appreciation makes her smile, peering from behind her sunhat to glance at the sky. “Still some time left before the tea meeting,” she says aloud to herself, chucking. “Ah, I hope the Librarian managed to get through unscathed for the day…” |
