There is a whisper in the shadows. The Healer lifts her head slowly, eyes narrowing. The darkness hides whatever made the sound. But she is certain there was something. The moment drags on and only the sound of the wind against the creeping tendrils of the Wandering Contagion greets her. Perhaps it was nothing. She lowers her head.

No- THERE.

She freezes as the sound reaches her ears again. Closer this time. And then another and another and another-

Adrenaline floods her and she lunges to her feet to sound the alarm. Just as the cry rises in her throat, a bloodcurdling scream arises not too far from her. Feathers flaring, she spins around to find- great deities...

Serthis. Hundreds of them, flooding into the camp. The unlucky Riian warriors who were on the edge of camp are dead or dying, and the Serthis aren't slowing down. Panic floods her. The Serthis rise and all around her the world is collapsing. The cries of her Clanmates rake at her, drowning her.

She is just a Healer. She is no warrior.

She takes to the sky.
