Malv

It was a cold, gloomy day when Malv was born. Neglected and rejected by their parents, for reasons they could never understand. Malv learned at an early age that life would never be happy, that the chance of hope was few and far in between. The chances of success were low for poor old Malv, and they could only get worse.

As they grew, the neglect only worsened, and Malv shut themselves in. Deemed as aloof, though they were merely attempting to protect themselves from further pain. Even then, their isolation would never protect them from the life they were raised in. This only furthered their attempts to shield themselves from the outside world, and eventually, that ended up being their downfall.

One fateful day, a horrible accusation was laid upon them. One of treachery, of treason, against The Shadowbinder. One during a time of war, one where they were accused of assisting the enemy, one that would get them cursed for the rest of eternity. One accusation brought them a horrible fate. Their form was twisted beyond that of a pearlcatcher, leaking the acidic dark substance of the Shadowbinder from not just the skin alone. The state only worsened, like a disease brought to one by the Plaguebringer herself. In distress, she fled, going farther than she would ever expect, and ending up in the Sunbeam Ruins.
