Ginger

Zanevior was feeling a little down today. Some of the other dragons and hatchlings think she is SPOOKKKYYY, which is a really good thing at Halloween, but not so much at Christmas time.
Sitting out on a ledge above her den, she was feeling a little sorry for herself. No one seemed to think of inviting her to join in decorating or making gifts. She was more than just a Spooky-Boo!
Something tantalizing drifted through the air, and the bogsneak lifted her snout to discover more. Mmmmmmm. Something smelled GOOOOOOOOD!!!! What was that wonderful smell.
Rising to climb higher above her lair, she is startled to find a small hatchling Obelisk stretched out on another outcropping of rock. She had a basket beside her, and was munching on whatever smelled so divine!
"Oh, hello!" she said. "I'm Ginger; who are you?"
Ginger's fur was all soft and sparkly. No one would ever call her spooky. Instead, she looked like . . . Home. What a strange thought. But she certainly didn't seemed frightened by Zanevior. After introducing herself, she couldn't help it. She had to ask what the little one was eating.
"I'm sorry," said the little one, suddenly very contrite. How rude of me not to offer you any." Holding out the basket, she continued. "We made cookies today! You should have some cuz they're REALLY nummy!!!!"
Zanevior gladly took one, and when she bit into it, she felt all warm inside and happy. "This is the best cookie I ever had," she gushed while reaching for two more. "What kind are they."
"They're our special recipe, and we call them Ludo Cookies. They're my favoritest." Ginger said as she laid back on the ledge.
For a moment the two girls ate in blissful silence, then Zanevior had to ask, "Why are you being so nice to me? Don't you think I'm spooky looking?
Ginger turned to look at her new friend, turning this way and that before answering. "Well, I guess at Halloween, you would spooky. But right now, I think you look all Christmasy with your red and green. I think you're very beautiful."
The Bogsneak swallowed hard. "Do you know, I think that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. No one around her lets me do anything Christmasy."
"Hey! I got an idea said Ginger, sitting up quickly! We always make tons of cookies to share with others during the Holidays. Why don't you come help! It would be so much fun! And then when you give you're Friends some cookies, they'll realize you're a Halloween Dragon AND a Christmas Dragon!"
"Oooooo, I LOVE that idea! Thank you for inviting me! And for the cookies," laughed the new Christmas Dragon as she snagged a few more from the basket!
