HOME LAIR - In the wake of plague/nature flight conflicts, Rimbold leaves the Behemoth and moves to the outer Hoverview Vale, the oasis where our lair will reside.

HOME LAIR - It has been nearly a month since Rimbold moved to the arcane oasis, and has found it no easier to find motivation. He grows bored, but does not want to go back.

HOME LAIR - Rimbold has resigned to the daily tasks of hunting and waiting. He doesn't know what he's waiting for, but he does not wish to acknowledge that he is anticipating nothing, the anticipation keeps him going. There's a commotion in the oasis, and he finds a wildclaw wrestling with vines she'd ensnared herself in. He helps her out, though was put off by Luryl's energetic and eccentric personality. She seems awed by him, being her first time personally speaking to both an imperial and someone from another flight. After this, she makes a habit of visiting regularly. Rimbold finds her overwhelming, but it has given hope of an end to his chronic boredom.

HOME LAIR - Visits from Luryl are now a regular occurrence, usually daily. Rimbold has grown accustomed to the wildclaw, though still remains quite reserved. The oasis' leaves were growing yellow as autumn swept through the land. Sometimes Luryl would miss a day, but would always be seen the next. That is until she goes missing for 5 days, and rimbold goes to look for her. he finds the scene of a fight with feathers similar to luryl's. he finds traces of plague flight involvement, and with dread, goes into plague territory to see if she's there. Following clues he is led to Rotrock rim. A scientist keen on discovering secrets of the wyrmwound had found the test subject who would most easily disappear without a trace, but rimbold found them. Draint, only knowing he is to help escort a prisoner, jumps to defend the scientist against rimbold. Once the scientist's intents are found, draint becomes hesitant, and begrudgingly allows rimbold and luryl escape.

luryl visits still as often now, telling tales of her time studying at the arcane flight, talking about friends she's made (nova & blue, an unlikely group). Rimbold kills time by beginning to make his cavern a more liveable/modern place, having been there some time now.

winter is in full force. luryl proposes inviting her friends for the winter solstice, and the four of them could search for the strange chests left each year. he agrees, not expressing his hidden eagerness to finally do something fun. on the first night of the two weeks, luryl arrives with nova and blue, and the four depart on a search. after ages they finally find one, and are shocked to see an iridescent purple ribbon loosely wrapped around a real nocturne egg. agreeing something must be done, they put together a makeshift nest at rimbold's cavern. he agrees to guard/keep the egg warm since the rest all have duties at home, but they visit daily with food and company.

They hadn't gone looking for any more chests, considering the handful the first chest already gave them. near the end of the solstice event, the nocturne egg hatches into vyntolo. they agree that rimbold would be the primary caretaker since he's the oldest (a shocking few months older than luryl) and he has no responsibilities at a flight currently. he is nervous but happy to finally find a genuine purpose for the moment, and focuses on caring for/raising vyntolo (the others still visit very often, almost daily).

spring arrives, and vyntolo is growing quickly, taking quickly to learning language and such. she seems to have taken after rimbold very much personality wise. the other three, being some way into adulthood, are starting to figure out their next direction. with a new year of eldest students being given their rooms, they ask to stay with rimbold until they find their own place, and he agrees with no argument.
