Badger was abandoned by his Sandshark birth family because of his blindness and seeming lack of magic. They didn't know he has the ability to manipulate the earth to his will, though inexperience limits his effectiveness in combat. His paws can sense the structural integrity of cave walls and stalactites, too. This, plus his exceptional sense of smell, help him navigate the world.

True to his name, Badger has an attitude problem. He refuses to follow orders blindly and demands a reason for everything. He gets defensive at the notion that he can't perform a task. He's often in trouble with adults in the clan. Underneath his tough exterior is a scared hatchling afraid of being abandoned.

Beyond that, he's curious and enjoys learning.
