Nadia has an uneventful youth, and when she's old enough to set out on her own, she does. She doesn't have anything in particular against her family's lair. But even so, the thought of spending her whole life there chafes. Not quite sure what she's looking for, she drifts west for a while. Over the sea and the plateau, nothing catches her eye. Realizing that she has to stop somewhere, she's about to resign herself to camping out for another night when she hears the sounds of a party.

Following the music, she thinks for a terrifying moment that it's coming directly from the Portal. But as it turns out, nestled in the cliffs nearby is an active lair. Intrigued, Nadia alights at their gates, asking permission from the silent guards before stepping inside. That night, dancing with Jasper, she finally feels alive.

Enchanted by the event, she doesn't realize until a few days later that most of the other attendees were higher born than herself. Even so, they're kind to her and the clan's warriors. Settling in among them, Nadia makes herself useful where she can, running errands and helping clean up.

Transformed into an Aether while trying to prevent her mate from the same, she finds it's actually quite pleasant to be so soft.
