Biography
WISHLIST DRAGON
List found under the blurb.
You find yourself traveling down a long, quaintly-decorated hallway, aimlessly wandering from door-to-door to see what you can discover. Reaching what appears to be a frankly massive library, you spy the first sign of life you've encountered since entering this grand estate: a warm-colored Nocturne, clinging to a rickety-looking ladder installed on a rolling track partway up one of the many, towering bookcases with her bat-like wings. Their creaking shelves bow inward with the weight of countless dusty tomes.
The door creaks as you lean your head inside, and the Nocturne startles a little, her neck swinging around to find the source of the noise. Kind brown eyes glitter behind smart, copper-framed spectacles, which she adjusts on her nose with a free paw, her tail swishing idly through a gap in the ladder's rungs.
"Well, hello there," she says, sounding faintly surprised, but not unwelcoming. "I don't get many visitors. What brings you this way, stranger?"
You introduce yourself - which honestly, considering you're probably trespassing, is only polite - and the Nocturne returns the pleasantry. As you explain your plight to her, Aine nods and hums thoughtfully, scratching her chin with a claw, before gracefully clambering her way down the ladder. It groans and wobbles as she goes. (Is that safe?)
"Well, I'm afraid I can't do much for that right now, but perhaps you could do something for me, while you're here?" Her tail sways eagerly against the ground as she comes closer, pulling a scroll of well-worn parchment from a pocket hidden inside her robe. "Like I said: I don't get many visitors out here, and my research makes it difficult to leave home for long periods of time. Very sensitive stuff, needs a lot of tending. Buuuut..." She cranes her head at you in a coy manner, her foreclaws tapping together sheepishly. "Since you're here, you can help me! I'll see if I can track down anything in my Archives you'll find useful, and in the meantime... maybe you could track down an item or two I need for my studies, in return?"
Aine titters at the deadpan look you send her, meekly shrugging her diaphanous wings. "Hey, I'm not the one who randomly decided to break into a stranger's home. You're lucky I didn't blast you out the window at first glance. Let me know if you find anything on here, okay?"
She passes you the scroll, and as you turn it over in your hands, it slips in your grip. The scroll unrolls as you fumble with it, spreading out into a comically long line of wrinkled, creamy parchment, neatly inked with several bullet-point lists. You shrug, and decide to give it a glance...
