Biography


It doesn't remember how it got here. All it can think of is how easily its scales sloughed off and melted to the howling mass around it, the searing agony that blankets it's every waking moment. It- no, she- distantly recalls... a quest.

A dare...?

Travel past the Pit, and come back. Look into the yawning horror, see if the writhing mass will burn your eyes out of your skull, come back.

Yes, that must've been it. But she- when she was a she and not a gnat caught in this sinuous spiders web- was overconfident. Her blue markings had always set her apart from her family, and she reveled in it, the praise, the crowing of her agility. She even believed it.

They matter not, here. The only thing it's eyes- or at least, it thinks they're it's eyes- can see is an endless red. It peels open it's mouth to scream, so do it's neighbors. Over the din of a new wave of roars she can feel the thrum of the warped prayer that connects them all.


In the back of it's mind, in a small corner shielded from her eternity, she prays for mercy.
