Having been one of the first true fighters of the clan, the Original two being the first ones, and having had a chance to have children he has seen many dragons come and go.

Some stay just only long enough to grow to join another clan, the others don't even wait that long. Most are sold and the others are given as a sacrifice to the Windsinger. Most of them are even happy to do it. Airknight has seen enough of them go to the wilderness and return only to give themselves in.

But, he thinks, their absence is only felt temporarily.

When he was younger and just starting up, he had no idea what it mean going into the coliseum and acquiring strength that usually only mighty titans had. It was a struggle that he remembers now only by his scars.

These days he trains young dragons who are destined to be sent to the Windsinger. Koska appoints them their fates as soon as they've hatches, or accepted into the lair, and Airknight has spent all grief he once had about it.

As a non religious entity he doesn't understand what honor it could be found by leaving their celestial place. Bitter and sad, but resolved to his faith, Airknight spends his time reminiscing about his young days and teaching younger dragons is ways of survival. Not all clans are as accommodating, but not all clans are as harsh as this one either.
