Nickoli

One chilly afternoon, Indra is sitting on the beach, contemplating her life and the friends she has found. Without realizing it, another Guardian dragon comes and sits beside her in the sand.
Usually, she is very shy around dragons she does not know, but there is something about this gentleman dragon that puts her at ease. After sitting peacefully in silence as they watch the waves lap upon the beach, the Guardian says to her, "You are a good Friend to your new Lair. Your presence with them brings Hope and Joy."
Surprised, Indra, turns to look at him more closely. "How would you know that?" she asks.
"Oh, I know a great many things," rumbles the elder dragon, his whiskers dancing with his laughter. "I'm planning a Christmas Celebration, and was wondering if you would like to help me in gifting your friends."
Suddenly realizing with whom she was talking, Idra smiled shyly. "I'd like that very much."
"Then come with me, and we shall make plans for a merry, festive tyme!"



Mazo is such a cool looking dragon. He reminds me of some rough, tough, hard working guy but you can just tell he loves life and has a lot of fun!
One day after working hard, transporting rocks for the building crew, Mazo heads over to Rosa's Cantina, his favorite place to get a cool drink of prickly pear lemonade after a hard day working. While sitting there enjoying the sun shining down, another dragon sits beside him. He too is drinking the fancy lemonade, and toasts Mazo with it.
"Nice whiskers," he says after taking a long drink.
Mazo grins; he's quite proud of his whiskers! "Yours are quite nice as well," he replies.
"I hear you're the hardworking dragon who gets things done around here."
"You need some help with something?" asked the Snapper.
"I do indeed. The name's Nikkoli, and I need help setting up a Caraval to Celebrate Christmas. What do you say? Lots of good food and merriment to be had."
Mazo laughed, "You're speaking my language. Let's do this thing."




It is the last night of the Christmas Caraval Faire.
Nickoli himself, the great dragon, has taken to the stage in the middle of the lush clearing, ringed with beautiful pinetrees, all lit up with candles and lights and beautiful baubles.
Raising his glass, Nickoli offers a toast to all the many dragons and Gajinkas who have come to finish off the Merriment of the season with a bang.
“My Friends, I thank each and every one of you for all the Joy and laughter we have shared during this wondrous holiday season. I thank my beautiful soulmate, Merriada, for all the Love she shares not only with me, but all the many dragons and folk she has adopted over the years.” Nickoli smiles as he winks at the beautiful red Tundra standing beside him. “I feel I must have more children than anyone else dreamed I would have.” Laughter erupted around him. “But I would have it no other way.”

“I also thank all the the Dragon Christmas Elves who have helped make this season's Festival a huge blessing to all who shared in the Joy. And finally, I wish to thank the Advent Angels who brought so much Joy and Love.”
If anything, the crowd grew quieter than they had been at The Guardian's words. Everyone knew of the Advent Angels who showered gifts and encouragement upon the dragonfolk through out the 12 Days of Christmas. It was a mystery who they were, and dragons began to crane their necks in anticipation of the Great Reveal.
In the outskirts of the meadow, under one of the smaller trees, a group of friends glanced at each other uneasily. What was Nickoli up to?
After a few moments waiting for the intensity of the crowd to increase even more, a deep, reverberating chuckled booming throughout the Faire. “Now you didn't really think I was about to disclose the identities of the Angels, did you?”
A combined groan washed over him in response.
More laughter. “It wouldn't be fair, now would it? These dragons have chosen to remain annonymous. They have no wish to be in the limelight. Their Joy is in making everyone else happy, and I salute them for their Spirit of Giving! However, I felt they deserved to hear my thanks.” Again, Nickoli raised his goblet of mead, and a resounding cheer filled the air! “Our thanks, dear Angels, whomever you might be!” Then looking back out at the assembly before him, “As we end this holiday season, I know each and everyone of you has shared Love and been a Blessing to others, whether with gifts, or with tyme, with music or encouragement or Hope. Each one of us has within us the Spirit of Christmas so I encourage you to Celebrate and thank each dragon you come upon this evening for their kindnesses. And who knows? You may even speak directly to an Advent Angel unbeknownst who I am sure will be greatly amused but also very appreciative. And now I bid you all a most wondrous New Year! Until next tyme, my friends!”
A loud bang filled the air, causing one and all to jump before a myriad of light flared on the stage where only moments before Nicoli and Merriada had stood. When the Dancing Lights finally receded, the dragons began to talk with each other amid a great many pats on the backs and words of thanks.
At the fringes of the merriment, the four friends grinned at each other as they raised their own goblets to each other. The Fae flittered amongst them. The female Pearlcatcher laughed merrily while the Nocturn smiled sweetly and the male Pearcatcher shook is head in amusement. It had indeed been a glorious Christmas season!
