Biography

The two heads are called Atena and Oris (Phos is their surname), with Atena being the older head who corresponds more closely in personality and memory to the Tundra dragon.

Atena was among the final generation of a now-extinct
clan, and forms part of the first generation of her current
group. Raised by the Banescale name in the carcass of an
older civilization, Atena and her brother, Solstice, grew up
cautiously, wary of the beasts which stalked the crumbling
ruins on the outskirts of the Lightweaver's domain. Atena
grew to become a formidable hunter and warrior, but
enduring skirmishes for every meal never came naturally
to her, a Tundra dragon. In the warm evenings, when the
glory of the Lightweaver was sinking low in the sky and
Solstice dressed the spoils of the day's hunt, Atena began
to learn how to cultivate flora from Name, a native of the
Viridian Labyrinth. Although, naturally, incapable of
wielding nature as an element in the manner of Name,
Atena learned how to care for plants more mundanely.
Gradually, Atena began to convert abandoned courtyards
into gardens and, eventually, farms. She pioneered,
through considerable trial and error, the use of Light
magic to promote the growth of large swathes of plants.
Today, Atena lives happily, tending to a variety of crops
and ornamental flowers. Many members of the clan have
tried to seek her advice of the clan's function, growth,
and future, to little avail. She does not appear interested
in much aside from her farm and family, although it has
hardly escaped her notice that her method of farming
has illustrated the amicability of the Sunbeam Ruins to
simple matters of sustenance, in addition to its traditional
scholarly fields. Atena greets others with a smile, and
delights in new pieces of horticultural advice. Yet, despite
her earnest and humble demeanor, Atena is viewed with
pride by many members of the clan, and ranks among
its progenitors.
History:
Atena was the byproduct of an almost
ancient phenomenon; the abandonment and
subsequent discovery of dragon eggs. Theories
abound as to the origin of these eggs, which are
speculated to be the final progeny of long-dead
clans or, more exotically, elemental byproducts
which congealed into globs and, finally, viable
eggs. No less mysterious is the powerful knack
for survival of found eggs, which have been
documented to hatch decades and- in the case
of the Flamecaller's first -hundreds of years after
their creation. Many consider the innately magic-
bound nature of dragonkind to confer such an
aptitude for dormancy, as theirs is unrivaled by
that of the eggs of most animals, and is unique
among all of Sorneith's sentient oviparous
species. The aptitude for dragon eggs to remain
almost uninterrupted by the passage of time
means that the origins of unrecorded eggs are
cryptic, at best. The dimly-glowing eggs of both
Atena and Solstice were no exceptions to this
rule.
In the case of a pair of Light eggs, unearthed
by a foraging Banescale, it seems their parents
had been denizens of a former Light clan.
Atena's hatchplace was littered with viciously
shattered shells, aged and serpentine tracks,
and Serthis scales, a sign that the members of
this Beastclan had once conducted a brutally
successful raid upon this small outcrop of the
Lightweaver's domain. The eggs which would
give rise to Atena and her brother, Solstice, had
been sequestered deep within the ground,
perhaps by a native of the Earthshaker's
kingdom, or merely by a feat of extremely
desperate digging. Neither egg felt a single ray
of sunlight fall for countless years, until a young
dragon, overeager in their pursuit of a Solar
vole. Within the canny vole's labyrinthine
burrow, the Banescale's spines brushed up
against no rodent's hair, but a harsh, delicate
texture instead, which emanating a weak and
pulsating light. Although the adventurous name
had never left the shadow of the Behemoth until
their present journey, a blend of curiosity and
sympathy led them to toil, nudging the sunbaked
soil with neck and powerful hindlegs until two
Light eggs flickered in view.
