Odo has never been the bravest soul. When he was naught but a Nocturne, he would stay in one spot and not move for days out of fear of being attacked. He was born alone in the Scarred Wasteland, and he despised his origins; a land created for survival, and yet he could barely survive. He was seen as weak and useless because of this.

But then, the wondrous day arrived; he received a letter. It was pristine and elegant, embedded with the mark of the Arcanist. Curious, he opened it, seeing it was an invitation from a dragon named Asa.

"Come to my castle, dearest Odo, and I shall give you magic and beauty beyond comparison. You will be given a home and love, as long as you bow to me and my Beauty."

Odo found the letter odd, but he traveled to Asa's castle regardless, eager to find his place.

Once he arrived, he learned that he was destined to be Asa's mate, the king to a queen of Absolute Beauty. But why little old him? He was weak and ugly, nothing but a being of Plague. How could Asa love him?

However, Asa made sure to make the Nocturne perfect for her, dressing his scales and wings in wonderful markings, and giving him the elegance of a Skydancer. He was also given courage, and bravery, and confidence. He was given strength and magic, as well as undying loyalty to Asa and only Asa.

He was corrupt, yet perfect. A perfect mate for a perfect queen.
