But when you're gone, who remembers your name, who keeps your flame, who tells your story?

A maniac. That's probably the most accurate description of Ares you could give. Ruthless, coldhearted, willing to do whatever it takes to become powerful. They say that it is remarkable a dragon this dark could be from the flight of light.

His parents were kind to him, but soon gave him away in service to a moderate sized clan. The dragon always felt a bitterness and resentment towards them because of this and yearned to have a position in his clan where no-one could tell him what to do or make him upset. This began his struggle for power. He trained and fought, becoming the strongest dragon in his clan. Ruthlessly killing prey and enemy. By a simply strategical point of view, he would have been an ideal successor for the clans current leader, if it wasn't for his personality.

Years of resentment and hatred had turned him into a warped shell of a dragon, with no values, caring for no-one but himself. The old leader died but wisely chose a much nobler successor. In his rage at not being chosen. He launched himself into the new leader and attacked him, luckily without managing to kill him, to the shock of all around. They turned on him, with good reason- who would want a murderer in their clan? And he was driven out.

In exile, Ares wandered for ages by himself. The news of the corrupted dragon and his crazed attack spread like wildfire and he received no support or shelter from anyone. Months passed, with the dragon constantly walking, hunting, finding a place to rest and then repeating the cycle.

One day, in the middle of winter, he was walking aimlessly through a freezing forest when a black wolf came snarling down on top of him. Both in a weak and hungry state, their fight did not last long before they both passed out on the snow, their blood changing it from brilliant white to a dark white.

In that forest, they begrudgingly learnt to respect each other. By working together they could find twice as much food, and fight enemies with double the force. Ares confided in the wolf and the wolf became loyal to him.

He was found in the woods one day by a small team of warriors belonging to the Plagued Clan. Knowing full well of the dragons past, the leader who was accompanied by three of her senior fighters offered the dragon a place in the clan.

Ever since then Ares and the wolf have been trying to form a plan to overthrow the clan leader, Sofi. But it's a bit hard to overthrow a leader when your whole clan knows what you're up to, and would defend the leader with their lives. Ares may just have to be content living the way he is, serving the clan as a strong warrior. Maybe one day he'll give up his murderous plans. Maybe he already has. It's a mystery when it comes to him, really.
