Biography

___________
QUINCAS

Dark, grey walls were all that Quincas had known for her entire life. Her scales had once been bright, blooming colors, in fact; yet, through years and years of living without any sunlight at all, save for when she so badly needed to go out, her scales had worn down. Once sharp and rock-hard, they were now soft and an umber color, which she so hated; yet couldn’t seem to change.

Claws and brushes scraped up against stone walls.

Paintings.

Paintings of her day, of her life; her awful, horrible life which she still adored. Every day was a new adventure, despite the same old scenery every waking moment of her days. It was still so much fun to forget, to get lost in her artwork and let go of her past, where she came from.

Her family had never been one to truly take care of her. They weren’t awful, per se, yet they didn’t seem to care about their daughter’s wellbeing. So, naturally; Quincas took it upon herself to learn how to live a daily life, to learn how to feed herself, ration food and water, spend her treasure well, and how to survive in the ruins she called home.

The ruins.

The ruins she adored so, with a cold breeze that ran up and through her scales, into her spine and sent a shiver across her body; yet she loved it. She loved it so much, just her and her odd little collection of… well, creatures. Creatures far and wide, all venomous, from snakes to frogs to lizards. Most came in a multitude of bright colors, which happened to brighten up her life just a little bit more.

Even if the sun burned so badly, she could still see her friends; her little creatures and knickknacks and carvings in the ruins’ walls. They were the light in her life, the sun that she could never truly see. They took care of her, and she took care of them.

And maybe, just maybe, seeing the same thing every day wasn’t all that bad.
