Auron originally was only planning to pass through the clan on his way to serving the Earthshaker, but after a week he decided to stay. He has worked hard to prosper the clan that he grew to love. He currently has no mate, though he once loved a guardian named Katarina (who left to serve the Earthshaker), and had four hatchlings with the skydancer Lara. He has a non-romantic affair with Ailment, with eight hatchlings between three nests, and he has a great respect for her; nesting tends to alleviate the stress of her condition and Auron is glad to help an old friend in such a way.

He's come a long way from the all-basic newborn he arrived as, though he still has doubts about his role to the clan. Obviously important, but not in a role of authority. Strong but not a fighter or defender. Auron is well-equipped and prepared, even though he suspects his only reason for being is to sit and be pretty. And pretty he is, a proud and unselfconscious creature with nothing to hide and everything to give.

Auron is the only dragon who sees through Dione's constant plotting, making sure she does not drive the clan to ruin along with her negligent mother and clan leader. He's the only one who knows Ghost's origins, and he keeps her secret. He knows of Symph and his relation to Wrath, though he has not told that secret either. He knows a lot of the clan, most of its stories, though he knows better than to proclaim that knowledge. In secretkeeper and peacemaker, Auron finds purpose, but is that concrete enough?
