The Nightmare Priest Azariah walks from dream to dream, nightmare to nightmare, from the liminal to reality. He carries silver to protect against the beasts of the void and esoteric symbols with no meaning to the waking mind. While the threats of flesh are acknowledged, it is the threats unseen which he concerns himself. They corrupt one's being, he whispers with a raised scythe. The parasites must be cut clean from the host with blood and silver.

His presence is treated with fear and trepidation. Where the Nightmare Priest Azariah treads, silence follows. Trails of gore and bones are left in his wake, and strange trinkets he places upon the bodies of the culled. He watches from the veil of dreams, and if you see his eyes peering at you through the nightmare fog, it is known that you will meet him in the waking world. What compels his fanatic journey? What is the root he claims to seek?

Curiously, he binds himself in silver straps and chains. He claims they keep him from falling to his own demons. Whatever purpose they hold, they give his victims a sound of warning: faint bells and the clink of silver crosses drawing steadily closer through an unnatural fog.
