Biography
Mica's main interest is in researching pollination to improve crop yields. At least, it started out that way.
His initial strategy was to plant different flowering plants near a target crop to attract pollinators: specifically, a native species of bee he set up in a hive equidistant from each field. He soon ran into technical difficulties. Firstly, the insectivorous researchers in the thought his bees were delicious. More concerningly, there were too many confounding factors to truly say whether his flowers were truly influencing the bee's moods and preferences.
So the logical next step was learning to talk to bees. Obviously.
Mica is now the premier expert in bee communication and behavior and a highly valued consultant for gardeners with specific pollination needs who normally have to do the job manually with tiny paintbrushes. He can simply conjure a bee out of golden light and relay their requests to his ever-growing insect army.
In his free time he makes tiny hats and ribbons for his bees to mark them as friends, not food.
