The clan tends to avoid Salazien, and for good reason. The shadowy dragon lurks in the depths of the lair, filling the air around him with poisonous vibes that make others supremely uncomfortable and drive them away. Any who dare approach find his demeanor sleezy and unpleasant. He is disliked by many, and unloved by all, and if it weren't for Cherry's open door policy, he likely would have been banished from the clan long ago.

But Cherry has said that all are welcome, regardless of their pasts, and so Salazien stays.

This policy is probably also the only reason he and Brutus haven't come to blows yet. The two Guardians clearly have history, but the only thing either will admit is that they were brothers once. Ask anyone in the clan, and they'd bet on Brutus winning in a straight fight, but there are some who worry that one day, Salazien may resort to less savory tactics to eliminate his biggest threat and rival in the clan.

(Gloom has been watching him like a hawk. So far she hasn't seen anything that looks too suspicious, but she refuses to let her guard down around her so-called 'uncle')

For now Salazien haunts the bowels of the lair like a ghost, avoiding everyone and keeping to himself. Only time will tell if he is planning something, or if like all the others he truly is just a misfit looking for a place to call home.

Once the heir to a powerful shadow clan who worshipped a dark god. The clan had a history of offering up hatchlings in sacrifice to the god in exchange for wealth, power, and influence. When Salazien was a hatchling himself, his adopted brother Brutus was meant to be sacrificed, but somehow he managed to escape. The god turned on the clan and slaughtered them, leaving Salazien the sole survivor. His hatred for Brutus kept him going, and he searched for the other Guardian for years intending to gain his revenge. But when he finally found him, Brutus had already become so much stronger than Salazien, and Salazien realized he'd never be able to kill Brutus directly. Instead, he took advantage of Cherry's hospitality to stay close to his target. One day he plans to get his long-overdue vengeance, he only needs the right opportunity

Of course, as time goes by and he spends more time with the rest of the clan, his dark soul finds itself softening towards them all. Cherry protects him, even from her own mate; her children welcome him and ensure that he's comfortable, even when he clearly makes them uncomfortable. A few of them even make the effort to visit him occasionally. His goal has been Brutus' death for so long, but a tiny, very tiny, part of him is starting to wonder if that's really what he wants...or if his former clan was corrupt and evil, and this new clan may be a better place for him after all
