Biography

windtop.png
Uh-oh, looks like this pale, frail, and sickly dragon wandered a little too far from her home lair (Sinjin)
And now she's off to see the world!
If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair!
Or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.
This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

The Reason
Home Lair: Sinjin, 450186:

The second in her family born with fading colors...
Malady couldn't stay still like her older brother.
If she was cursed with a short life.
She wouldn't live it as an invalid.
Nope!
She was going to see the world.
Make friends and memories.
Maybe fall in love.
Maybe meet an enemy!
She just wants to leave her mark on this world before she fades away.

Scientists, Mad and Regular
Lair's name: Clan Sparkfyre

Clan Sparkfyre has seen an uptick in visitors suffering from strange wasting diseases lately. When Malady arrived she was immediately put in quarantine. She was a bit offended since her colors weren't catching but it was quickly explained to her that a different visitor had recently arrived with an extreme case of a...fungal infection? (they're still running tests) that slowly and horrifically transforms its host into a mildless insectoid zombie monster. The isolation period was more for her protection than the rest of the clan.

Indeed, once she was released, Malady saw that many of the members of Clan Sparkfyre were scarred from their experience with the mystery pathogen. They told Malady about the healers they had assembled from across Sornieth, at least one of whom was definitely a real and qualified doctor. In the end though, what had saved the clan was the appearance of a divine healer imbued with the power of The Boss himself who had appeared out of the desert. Malady wondered if Stormcatcher's gift would be able to heal her as well. She vacillated for a long time before finally approaching Daedalus about it. She thought she would regret not asking. He gently told her that his power really only seemed to work on the fungus thing, but he advised her to consult with one of Sparkfyre's witches. The witch said she couldn't stop Malady's illness entirely but she was able to place a charm on Malady's shawl that would slow the progression of her fading.

By then Malady had been with Clan Sparkfyre for quite some time. She found the dragons there excitable and unnerving and it had been a bit of an emotional roller coaster. And she found that she disliked the harsh desert landscape, plagued by storms. She decided to move on to hopefully greener pastures.

Plauged Pearls and Odd Friends
Lair's name: The Kingdom

Malady found herself in the plaguebringer's domain, not the greener pastures she had hoped for. Nonetheless, she continued on until she encountered an interesting pearlcatcher by the name of Arbor who seemed to been tending to an assortment of plants. He turned his head to the sound of a visitor and bounced to his feet to meet the new face.

He explained that he had heard of Malady and her case. His kingdom would like to help her with it,
the kingdom was fairly welcoming to Malady, setting her up in a quiet den with a few older dragons and giving her what she needed.

Overtime a few of the kingdom's healers, witches, herbalists (and... even a prophet?) had seen her and did what they could with the little knowledge they had on her case. It seemed that all the hard work payed off.. somewhat. Very little of the colour in her wings had started coming back, but they were dull and still not the same as when she was younger.

Malady thanked the kingdom and everyone who had cared for her and tried to help, but it was time for her to go off on her journey yet again. Maybe this time she'll actually find those greener pastures.
