Runic

The pearlcatcher is rather drab; he's all dark shades with his only flair being the glowing runes along his flank and the paper mask version of…his own face. His spot in the office behind the library was hard enough to find, so seeing him sitting there makes you breathe a sigh of relief.
"Greetings!" He says, and then a few words you don't know. You heard he was eccentric; he can speak tongues unheard since the second age, but he cannot control which language he speaks at any given time. "What can I do-"
As soon as you hold up the paper that brought you here, he hisses and jumps over his desk, sending books and scrolls to the floor and seizing you by the arm. He isn't hissing, you realize. He's trying to say something. He clears his throat and tries again.
"Do not go around showing that where anyone can see it! Where did you find it? What do you know of us-I mean, of this?" He looks around frantically, and you start to tell him about finding it in the library, but he cuts you off.
"Alright. Listen, I just do work with them, I'm not the one to ask. Deep in a cave by the eastern border of this...village, there's the munchkin tree. The cave next to that, that's where she lives. She's the one to ask. Tell Eclipsa the password on this, and she'll tell you what you want to know. Now leave." He doesn't wait for you to say anything, just shoves the scrap piece of paper back at you with something scrawled over the symbol and jumps back over his desk, vanishing into the scrolls and books once more. At least part of the mystery can be solved, and you can get some answers, right?
