"Average Person Dies 200 Times A Year" Quote Incorrect, Immortal Circus Performer Wolfram Klein Is A Statistical Outlier And Should Not Have Been Counted
A character from an original story of mine which follows the struggle of two performers to escape an abusive traveling circus with the help of some new friends. Wolfram is one of several performers with supernatural abilities, his being an inability to die or age. Originally from Austria, he lied his way into the military at the age of 18 and discovered during a battle with the Russian army that he was the lone survivor of a deadly gas attack on his unit. The Russians, who knew for a fact that this man had been dead, were confused but intrigued and after replicating the event and, more importantly, the results, they decided to send Wolfram to Moscow for further study. Fortunately for Wolfram, he managed to escape before he got there, and he spent the next several decades wandering Europe until his travels took him to the United States where he fell in with a group of circus performers. He discovered that he wasn't the only freak there, and the circus quickly began to feel like home. But that was before the circus's original owner died. After he passed, he left the management to his son, and the place that was once an accepting refuge for so many of society's outcasts quickly became a prison.
