Biography
No one quite remembers where Helen came from. The clan lived without her for a time, Hewn and Glen do remember that. But Mantis recalls that she was there when he was a hatchling, filling the den with her chatter.
Helen loves the confusion. She doesn't remember when, exactly, she found the other dragons. But she remembers a day where two Mirrors were at each other's throats, their nest left unguarded, their hatchlings stumbling over each other blindly. They did not notice her curling around the nest, whispering sweetly and excitedly to the younguns. So it went, for a while. The leaders would argue and gather and leave the den and argue more. Throughout it all, Helen fed the hatchlings and helped them get their feet under them and their wings in the air. And from then on, she was simply there.
Occasionally she would flit out, leaving her post at the nests to find treasure chests and games and anything interesting and shiny she could see on the ground. It was never in doubt that she would return. Sometimes, she would also return with a new dragon in tow behind her, letting her eager nature guide them to a new clan. Her favorite time of the year is the Night of the Nocturne, when unhatched eggs are brought home by confused scavenging teams.
She remains in the clan, fond of her many hatchlings (for aren't all those she helps hatch her own?) and in love with her wife, Clara the fortune-teller.
