Eris was one of the first dragons to be transformed by Her Beauty… and the gracious queen’s first mistake. Instead of changing her from a Bogsneak to a breed more elegant, Asa ended up simply tearing parts of the poor dragon, making her wings deformed and unable to fly. The queen decided not to give up, and tried to fix Eris again, but it simply made it worse, causing her skin to press against her skeleton, causing her to have a permanent mark across her body. With that, Asa cast Eris out in an instant, desperate to hide her mistake from all of those in her kingdom, as such a fact would ruin her reputation. With her abandonment, Eris wandered the outside of Elegancia, doing anything she could to be welcomed back in, but the guards knew of her, and drove her out (with little violence, thankfully). The Bogsneak attempted to disguise herself by hiding her face and torn skin, but still, she was thrown aside. This took a massive toll on her self-esteem, and the Bogsneak soon stopped her efforts, hiding away in a ruined tent, left behind by a poor soul from the late Kingdom of Wanderon. She remained there for years, causing fungi and vines to stick to her body. This has restricted her body more than her torn skin had. After her years of isolation, she finally emerged again, and was greeted with hundreds of dragons swarming to Elegancia, desperate to get a new body and life. Upon this sight, she grew sad again, and almost returned to hiding for another few years… but, an idea came to her. What if she warned them? What if she told them who she was, what they could possibly become, and what Asa might do to them if they go? With this fresh idea, Eris modified her ruined tent, making it into an outpost. She stood watch every day, calling to every dragon that passed her by, stating Asa’s intentions and why going there is not the best route for them. She had little luck with a lot of dragons, but a select few would listen, either turning around or landing to live near her instead. Eris went out of her way to construct homes for each dragon that stayed, doing surprisingly well despite how crippled she was. |
