Sunrise

Delicate, gentle Sunrise didn’t get it. Where was she? What were these strange lights surrounding her? And most of all, who were these two unfamiliar dragons with strange bright cyan eyes?

“Where am I?” She called. She didn’t know who she was talking to- the two dragons? The wind? The sun? An imaginary being that lived inside her head?

A tiny Fae dragon fluttered down onto a large rock baking in the sunlight. “Don’t you know, Sunrise? You are here to serve the mother of us all.”

“What?” Sunrise sat up, and coiled around the boulder she was on. “My mother sold me off when I was a hatchling. I don’t know who you are, and I most definitely do NOT want to become her servant. If it’s okay I’ll take my leave, now.”

“No, Sunrise.” The small dragon zipped in front of her face. “You are here to serve the Lightweaver with us, in this clan. I am Lightly.”

Sunrise blinked, and then bowed her head. “It’s an honor to serve the Lightweaver. I apologize for my rudeness.”

Lightly smiled warmly. “I look forward to working with you, Sunrise.” Suddenly Lightly pressed closer and whispered in Sunrise’s ear. “By the way, those dragons are from Lightning Flight. They’re seasoned experts, they say, and they were cheap, so they’re here”
