For a fire mage, Jasper's very chill.
When it comes to his fire magic, he's precise and practiced: he can tell you exactly what temperature his flames are burning at, and never let a single spark fall out of place. But it's not about control. As he keeps telling Jaken, it's about knowing what the fire will do and working with it. He's good with fire because he goes with the flow.
His experiments tend to be... exploratory. His interest is mainly in fire and germination. How does scorching a seed, or the ground over it, affect growth? His typical day involves throwing a fireball or two, checking yesterday's scorch mark, maybe giving the little seeds a drink, and then walking away. No use micromanaging a patch of ground, after all. Sprouting takes time.
He doesn't go in with a hypothesis or a plan: he waits to see where the study takes him. It's a little unorthodox, but his notes are good, and his results are replicable. So it all works out.
Since has a lot of time to fill, he's picked up a few hobbies. He can often be found foraging for interesting herbs and chatting with other dragons in the garden.
